This smart galley kitchen required careful planning to balance functionality with a clean crisp look, as it opens out into the living room at either end. Designed off plan with the developers, it was also key to ensure the finishes were neutral with universal appeal without being uninspiring.
As well as combining textured graphite and finger-print-proof white units, we added interest and texture with the textured split slate and antique mirror on the walls. The floating breakfast bar adds seating with a view, whilst remaining visually open to avoid closing off the space between the two rooms.
The two walls give a clear separation between the cooking are and the prep area (sink, dishwasher and bin) with a maximum run of drawers under the hob providing the most practical storage and a sleek horizontal look. Siemens appliances and quartz worktops provide the highest quality for a reasonable budget to finish this gorgeous galley space.
