Open Plan Kitchen With Feature Island

This client approached us to help design a full lower-floor renovation. After drawing up a design that knocked through multiple rooms; the result was a dramatic open-plan space, utilising the grandeur of the property and drawing light from all sides. The client’s brief was to create a ‘wow’ kitchen that complimented the property by using high-end lacquered cabinetry and Miele appliances.
The design pivots around a central island. To create the necessary seating we added a dramatic L-shape breakfast bar with downturns at both ends, which encase and bookend the cabinetry. This is balanced by a bank of integrated tall units built recessed into the wall at the back of the room, in a line of sleek simplicity.
The light colour palette of white and grey was selected to compliment the décor throughout the ground floor. It acts as a calming canvas on to which splashes of colour could be added.
