Modern Victorian Kitchen With Concrete Finish

Sussex

The proportions of this flat within a grand Victorian square made for a great canvas for our kitchen design: whilst the space is compact the ceilings are grand and vast. Our brief was a contemporary space with soft textures, and simplicity but with an injection of personality and colour.

We added colour through the freestanding Smeg fridge and the Farrow and Ball painted walls, introducing textures of wood and concrete through the simple slab door cabinetry. Wall units run to extra high heights with up lighting above to make the most of the tall proportions.

Symmetrical runs of worktop and wall units frame the central sash window and provide practical cooking and wet areas, whilst open shelving and a glazed unit built over the radiator provide space to display personal decorative items and cookery books in this true cook’s kitchen. Space is left for the clients zinc dining table to complete the compact kitchen diner.

The Blanco Zeus quartz worktop by Silestone adds a crispness to the other textures with its simple white colouting.

Appliances by: Siemens, Bora, Quooker and Smeg.
