Classic In-Frame Kitchen with Ribbed Oak Island

East Sussex

We were thrilled when our client requested a classic in-frame kitchen with a dramatic island and a modern twist. The result is a stunning fusion design, inspired by the client’s oak dining furniture and love of Art Deco.

The bespoke island serves as a focal point, showcasing beautifully curved design elements. Crafted from ribbed oak paneling, the ribbing flows seamlessly from concealed curved cupboards to deep drawer fronts and into the recessed seating area. The doors are designed to sit an inch off the floor, creating a floating effect that is further enhanced by dramatic top and bottom lighting.

The island’s striking presence is complemented by the calm simplicity of the surrounding cabinetry. Framed shaker units, painted in Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone, offer abundant practical and unique storage solutions; including a double pantry, hidden pull-out drawers, tall integrated appliances, and a bespoke bi-folding breakfast cupboard.

The kitchen is completed with a striking quartz worktop, featuring dramatic claret marbling that perfectly complements the overall styling and color palette of the space. This project truly demonstrates that practicality can also be exquisitely stylish.
